Most litter box problems come from boxes that are too few, too small, too dirty or in the wrong place.
Get it right
- Have one box per cat, plus one extra
- Choose a large box, about one and a half times your cat's length
- Put boxes in quiet, easy-to-reach places, away from food
- Scoop at least once a day
- Wash the box and replace litter regularly
- Many cats prefer unscented, clumping litter
